Acoustic trio of bluegrass and jazz/blues with Danny Williams on mandolin, Danny Cecil on bass, and Don Rogers on guitar. Coming to hear them play is like being invited to a back porch jam where a pure performance is freely expressed.

A Balagooligans Production.
A Banquet Wedding Feast and A Balagooligans Theater Production.

The Banquet Buffet of wedding dishes, aphrodisiacs and silky desserts will be reminiscent of outdoor wedding feasts cooked over the open fire with rustic, wild smoky flavored entrees like Shish Kebab, smoked pork tenderloin, smoked salmon pasta with caviar. Other entrees include Basque lamb stew and squash roasted with cream, nutmeg. Algerian pilaf and goat cheese and carrots stuffed miniature peppers and much more, concluding with a Toast to Love.

The Balagooligan Production entitled "Acts of Love" will be performed by Adam Lucky and Anitra Brumagen directed by Noni Valsari. with Natasha Williams, narrating. You'll see three romantic vignettes performed after dinner: excerpts from "Romeo and Juliet," "Rough Crossing," and "On Golden Pond"

And three very brave men--Craig Cornwell on drums, Jim Gleason on guitar, and Harold Sherman on keyboards--fight for sexual equality as they back up these five feisty women.

Songs from its new CD "Third Shot," as well as older radio hits (mainly in and around greater Danville).

"Third Shot," which has received positive early reviews, is a combination of original material and covers of blues classics. From Lucas-Norris compositions such as "Dream Home with or Sale;" "You May Be Bluer Than You Think;" and "Coming Down the Backside," to standards like John Lee Hooker's "Dimples" and Little Walter's "My Babe," the tunes cover range of styles, but always with a distinctive blues feel.

Originally assembled to support Clive Pohl’s studio CD “JUGGLING”
(released in 2001) SPARE PARTS has become much more than a backup band. It is a group of experienced instrumentalists expressing their artistic individuality within a close-knit musical community.

The ensemble continues to perform mostly original songs (some with and some without words) written by Mr. Pohl but the chemistry of the players and the compositions themselves have evolved to reflect diverse interests from social concerns to the simple quest for fun.

The core of band includes Clive Pohl (guitar, voice), Tom Wilhelm (bass), Dennie Kirtley (trumpet and handrums) and Tom Martin on keyboards. Additional Spare Parts have been known to participate including Lissa Pohl (voice), Stephanie Raglin (voice), and Arthur Rouse (drums).

Each performance is a unique event with new material and new interpretations of familiar originals.

He's been playing songs since he was fourteen, but he's now older (try 25). He used to spend a lot of time trying to write rock music for his former rock and roll band. Nut after realizing that he wasn't cut out for rock and roll, he turned to his acoustic guitar, and there's where you will find him today--playing and singing for whoever will or will not listen. Their broad repertoire includes traditional tunes as well as original compositions stylistically ranging from Bluegrass, Celtic, and Classical, to Contest-Style, Old-Time, and Texas Swing. Based in Lexington, Kentucky, Alma Gitana (Gypsy Soul) performs the music of some of Spain's most progressive Flamenco fusion groups including: Navajita Plateá; Mártires del Compás; Ojos de Brujo; and Ketama. An occasional Gypsy Kings song rounds out the mix. With a line up of two flamenco guitars, cajón (box drum), bass, percussion and vocals, Alma Gitana's performances invoke the spirit and sound of Andalucia. In response to experiencing the ensemble's premiere performance, an audience member from Cadiz wrote, "Gitanos Americanos, Gracias por traer un poquito de Andalucia, me siento en casa. Olé, olé y olé!" (American Gypsies, Thanks for bringing us a little of Andalucia, I feel at home! Ole, ole y ole!) Alma Gitana's passionate and soulful performance will make you want to shout, "Olé" too!
