Ebony wood carvings from Tanzania
Graceful carvings from ebony wood over 3000 years old have been
found in Egyptian tombs. Ebony is a rich and sensuous wood that was
sought after by royalty of Persia and India for scepters, sculptures and
drinking cups. The dense fine grain of Tanzanian ebony is regarded
as superior to that from other sources and finishes to a more lustrous
surface.
