A Walk on the Dark Side 2

from the Dishwasher Archives

Dear Dishwasher,

I am a cheerful person. I like to smile and laugh! I'm writing because I've recently had several dreams which seem to be telling me that I need to examine my darker side, too much coffee maybe, smoke too much weed. I know I need to examine this side of myself, but I'm not sure how. Since I seem to have lost my darker sides address I was wondering if you had any suggestions as to how to find it.

Many thanks!

Dark Side Sam

Dear Dark Side Sam,

The mind's eye is like a flashlight....it likes light, understanding, roadmaps and books that tell you stuff. The dark side likes chaos, surprises, questions left unanswered, insecurity and fear...so seeking the dark side with a flashlight is out of the question. Don't expect to make friends either.....D S don't like friendly small talk.

Don't march down the hallways of consciousness lookin' for trouble. Go quietly into the cathedral and sit in the back with your head down. Let go of intention. Intention is the mind's trick to retain control, to trick you into thinking you're getting someplace. Don't intend to deepen your spiritual self. That's like trying very very hard.......................to relax. Go quietly into the cathedral, sit in the back with your head down and wait. Acknowledge your dreams...better yet just notice them, jot them down and keep the flashlight away. Bright lights of intention and the noise of brain activity alert all the obsessions, habits of consciousness, rationalizations, the excuses why you can't go there. A host of friendly neurosis become active because there is a new threat to the status quo of the MIND.

Want to meet DS? Slow down, be quiet and listen. Ask no questions. Wait...................if ya get scared.............just start talkin!

Avoid TV

yours truly,
The Dishwasher
