Beet Sweatshirt

Ukrainian Farmer's Festival Tee

Around the cafe we call it "The Beet Shirt." It's a must for a cook to wear when making borscht. "Sorochinskiy Yarmarok" is a name of a farmer's market held annually in Mirgorod, Ukraine, to celebrate the harvest. For Russians and Ukrainians it's more than a place and the festival: there's hardly anyone who speaks the language that hasn't read Nickolay Gogol's book with the same name. It's his book that actually helped to preserve the tradition. If you don't speak Russian, at least read Tom Robins' "Jitterbug Perfume." That's where our inspiration to put the beet on the shirt came from.

White only. 100% cotton tee  Made in USA.
